일본 니케이신문에 따르면, 아구스틴 카스텐스(Agustin Carstens) 국제결제은행(BIS) 총재가 “암호화폐는 많은 허점이 있고, 화폐의 기본특성을 갖추고 있지 않다”고 진단했다.

그러면서 그는 “암호화폐가 비록 현재 자산으로 분류되고 있지만, 현금처럼 안정적인 가치를 유지할 수 없다”고 지적했다.

또한 “암호화폐에 대한 규제는 반드시 시행되어야 하고, 암호화폐를 자금세탁 또는 테러리즘 원조 등에 사용하는 행위를 근절해야 한다”고 부연했다.

인도 유력 경제 신문 이코노믹타임스(The Economic Times)에 따르면,  전문 로펌 번스와이스(Berns Weiss) CEO 제프리 번스(Jeffrey Berns)가 미국 네바다 사막 6만 7천 에이커 규모의 토지를 1.7억 달러에 구입한 것으로 나타났다.

이와 관련해 그는 “해당 지역에 블록체인 산업 단지를 구축할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.

중국계 암호화폐 거래소 OKEx가 방금 전 “에이치쉐어(HSR, 시총)의 메인넷 스왑을 지원, 오늘(2일) 16시부터 해당 암호화폐의 입출금을 중단할 예정”이라고 밝혔다.

 

 

블록체인 테스팅업체 “EOS, 블록체인 아니다”

IT 전문 미디어 더넥스트웹(thenextweb)에 따르면, 세계 최초 블록체인 테스팅업체 화이트블록(WhiteBlock)이 최근 블록체인 엑셀러레이터 콘센시스(ConsenSys)의 의뢰로 진행된 EOS 벤치마크 테스트를 통해 “EOS는 블록체인이 아니다”라고 진단했다.

그러면서 해당 업체는 “EOS 코인과 RAM 시장은 본질적으로 완전 중앙화된(entirely centralized) 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스이다”라며 “EOS는 블록체인의 불변성(immutability) 등의 기본 특성도 갖추고 있지 않다”고 지적했다.

또한 “EOS는 블록체인 보단 동질형 분산 데이터베이스 시스템(distributed homogeneous database management system)에 가깝다”며 “EOS 트랜잭션이 암호학적 검증(cryptographically validated)이 되지 않는다는 점에서 블록체인과 명백한 차이를 보이고 있다”고 주장했다.
