日 히타치, 블록체인 지문 인증 결제 시스템 테스트 진행

일본 전자제품 대기업 히타치(Hitachi)가 전자통신 대기업 KDDI와 협력해 소비자의 지문으로 소매점 결제를 처리하는 블록체인 기반 결제 시스템 테스트에 나섰다.

26일(현지시간) 코인데스크 보도에 따르면 히타치와 KDDI는 파트너십을 맺고 지문을 활용한 블록체인 기반 쿠폰 정산 시스템을 테스트 중이라고 밝혔다.

테스트용 기기는 도쿄 신주쿠에 위치한 KDDI와 도넛 매장에 배치됐다.

해당 시스템은 리눅스 재단의 하이퍼레저 패브릭(Hyperledger Fabric) 플랫폼에 히타치의 생체인증기술과 KDDI의 쿠폰 시스템이 통합되었다. 소비자의 지문으로 분산화된 네트워크에서 쿠폰 거래 내역을 처리하는 방식이다.

소비자는 시스템에 가입한 후 쿠폰과 생체정보를 등록하며, 등록된 정보는 암호화된 코드로 블록체인에 저장된다.

가맹점에서 거래가 진행되면 소비자는 지문으로 사용자 인증을 받고 이 지문 정보가 분산화된 네트워크에 분산저장된다.

해당 시스템의 목적은 개개인이 각각 다른 지문을 가졌다는 생체특징을 활용해 조작이 불가능한 블록체인과 연동해 정확한 소비자 정보를 저장하고 안전하고 신속하게 거래를 처리하는 것이다.

히타치 측은 “소비자가 시스템 연동 장비에 손가락을 대기만 해도 인증을 받을 수 있게 됐다. 매장에서 쿠폰을 제시할 필요도 없고, 심지어 쿠폰을 스마트폰 없이도 사용할 수 있다”고 말했다.

이번 프로젝트는 약 1년 전부터 블록체인 기술을 다양한 소매점 거래 적용에 연구해온 히타치의 파일럿 프로젝트이다.
